Terms of service, written for humans.
No Latin, no traps, and no five-page walls of ALL CAPS. Just clear ground rules on what Renew & Save does for you—and the one important check you need to do before buying a policy.
The deal in three lines
- We do the tedious quote-form typing for free so you can see whether your insurer is overcharging you.
- We’re a switching concierge, not an insurer or financial adviser—you pick, review, and buy directly with the insurer.
- Always check the pre-filled answers and read the insurer’s PDS before paying so your cover is watertight.
1. What Renew & Save actually is
Renew & Save is a free Australian car insurance renewal concierge. You upload or forward your renewal schedule, answer 4 quick gap-fill questions, and our software completes online quote forms with major Australian insurers to save 30-day quotes for you. We don’t issue insurance policies, set insurance prices, take policy payments, or manage claims—your insurance contract is always directly with the insurer you choose.
2. Authorising us to fetch quotes (and listed drivers)
When you tick the authorisation card on Step 4 and click Start my quote run, you’re giving us the green light to enter your car, address, and driver details into the quote calculators of the insurers listed on screen—and to save those quotes under your email address.
And if your renewal PDF lists another driver (like a partner or family member), just make sure you’ve got their okay before uploading their name and birth date so we can include them on the quotes.
3. Helpful legwork, not personal financial advice
When we badge a quote as a “Best match” because it came in cheapest at a similar basic excess, that’s a simple price-and-feature filter—not personal financial advice. Every insurer writes their cover differently (think choice of repairer, windscreen cover, hire car after an accident, or agreed vs. market value). So before you switch, check the insurer’s Product Disclosure Statement (PDS) and Target Market Determination (TMD) to make sure the policy actually suits you.
4. Your one big job before paying: verify your details
When you buy car insurance in Australia, the law asks you to take reasonable care to give the insurer accurate answers—because wrong details can affect a future claim. Our PDF reader and quote bots save you a heap of typing, but they aren’t infallible:
- PDF layouts vary across insurers, so a detail could occasionally be misread.
- Different insurers use slightly different dropdown brackets (for example, 5,000–10,000 km vs up to 10,000 km, or AU$1,200 vs AU$1,300 basic excess), so our bots pick the closest match to get you a realistic quote.
Before you pay an insurer: When you click Retrieve saved quote and land on the insurer’s website, check every pre-filled answer (modifications, existing damage, finance, how the car is used, claims, demerit points, and driver history) and fix anything that isn’t 100% right for you. Because you review and buy directly with the insurer, Renew & Save isn’t responsible if an insurer changes a price or declines a claim over an unverified detail.
5. Who we compare & how prices work
We don’t compare every car insurer in Australia. We focus on a practical shortlist of major Australian insurers so you get real, saved quotes in minutes rather than 40 sales calls. Prices come straight from each insurer’s online calculator at the time we run them and can shift if you change your start date, excess, or extras on their site. If an insurer pays us a referral fee when you switch, that never adds a cent to the price you pay.
6. Playing fair & Australian Consumer Law
Use Renew & Save for your own household’s car insurance renewals—don’t upload documents you don’t have permission to use, and don’t spam, scrape, or misuse our quote runners.
These terms follow the laws of New South Wales, Australia, and nothing here takes away any rights you automatically have under Australian Consumer Law. Spot something broken or have a question? Email quotes@renewandsave.com.au.
